Library and Information Science
Library and information science is a profession that builds bridges among people, information and technology. The School of Professional Studies offers a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree that educates students to be active leaders in a rapidly changing information society.
The program integrates the principles, practices and ethics of library and information science with an in-depth understanding of the people who use information systems in their work and communities.
St. Catherine’s MLIS students learn to collect, organize, preserve and disseminate information so that all people — regardless of age, gender, race, color, creed, ethnicity, socio-economic status, political persuasion or sexual orientation — have equal access to the information they seek.
The MLIS program, accredited by the American Library Association, is open to women and men.
