Occupational Therapy Assistant
St. Kate’s two-year OTA program will educate you to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and enter a career where you’ll work closely with individuals to find creative solutions that contribute to their physical, psychological and spiritual well-being.
Occupational Therapy: Living life to its fullest
Under the direction of and in collaboration with occupational therapists, COTAs help people to accomplish what they need to do and love to do – their human occupations and avocations — despite physical, mental or emotional limitations.
You might work with someone who has had a stroke to experience an activity like fishing or gardening, teach a patient with a spinal cord injury new ways to make meals, show an elderly person how to use assistive devices so she can live and function independently or work with a child to improve sense of balance.
With a career in occupational therapy, you have unlimited potential to touch people’s lives.
